Aged 60 plus and still enduring your glasses?
"My life has never been busier. When I'm not helping out with my family, I'm working on my Open University course, playing bridge with my friends, or travelling the world. The only thing that had been holding me back was the frustration I felt with the glasses I needed for both distance vision and for reading. I could never put my hands on my reading glasses when I needed them. Even with my glasses on I felt that the quality of my vision was quite poor. At the consultation, the Mr Ball found that I had early cataracts. Following cataract surgery at Custom Vision Clinics, I am almost completely independent from glasses and feel that I can see the world the way I did when I was in my twenties." Anne is a 70 year old retired school teacher and a grandmother.
Special Considerations
After the age of 60 the optical quality of the lens inside the eye may become worse, eventually turning into a cloudy cataract. Initially you can see fairly well with glasses, but later the vision is poor, even with the glasses or contact lenses. Because these changes creep up slowly, you only realise how bad things were once they've been fixed.
